There is not a regular campsite at Trout Creek Pass, and it is primitive camping at a place where not only others have camped before, but we have camped there several times in the winter.  There are no facilities (bathrooms, water, etc.) there at all, but there are several great places there to camp.

Directions are as follows:
Drive like yo are going toward Buena Vista/Johnson Village on Highway 24.  After Antero Junction and Trout Creek Pass, there will be a right turn onto County Road FR 305.  After approximately 3 miles, turn right onto County Road FR 376 (Lenhardy Cutoff).  FR 376 can be a bit rough in places, but it is passable in almost any vehicle if you take your time.  About a mile up and just off of this dirt road is where we go camping.

Total distance from Colorado Springs is about 90 miles, and just under 2 hours of driving time.  Winter gear is required due to how cold it can get there at times (0 degree sleeping bag, ground pad, no cotton clothes, etc.)
